MP3 File: John Powell - Goa

This was a song off the Bourne Supremacy OST. It's really chilled and I recommend everyone check it out. If you can get your hands on the album, even better.

Postal Service - Give Up

1. The District Sleeps Alone Tonight
2. Such Great Heights
3. Sleeping In
4. Nothing Better
5. Recycled Air
6. Clark Gable
7. We Will Become Silhouettes
8. This Place is a Prison
9. Brand New Colony
10. Natural Anthem

In case none of you have heard of Postal Service they're the lovely people that practically guarantee that anything you mail will never make it to it's destination in time and equally guarantee that any package you receive will be kicked about proportional to the amount of fragile stickers you slap on. Oh, and they're also an electronic-indie band from Washington (that's in America for those of you haven't touched an atlas in a while). To me they're somewhat of a mix between Athlete, for the way the songs are quite chilled out, and The Killers ... because their American instead. The album itself is okay, but there are 2 songs that I think are just brilliant. These are The District Sleeps Alone Tonight and Such Great Heights. I can't take all the credit for finding this one because it was Chantelle who actually recommended The District Sleeps Alone Tonight. But that doesn't matter, because I'm still a genius. Long story short, if you'd like to check out some chilled out indie rock music, then give this a go. If you don't want to, get your hands on the first 2 tracks, you won't regret it. Enjoy.

Video: Kasabian - Empire

This is a great video for a song off Kasabian's newest album. Well worth a view just for the time and effort put into the filming itself. And if that's not enough, they're from Leicester!

23. Peepshow Part 4

I've had this album sitting about on the computer for ages but I only really gave it a good listening to recently. I have to say I'm more than loving this album right now. It's definetly chilled out but it's more like Massive Attack sort of chilled than it is, say, Air or Fila Brazillia sort of chilled. Some personal favourites are Uplink, Fall Break, Summer Love, and 183. What's nice about this album is that it's not just instrumentals flying about for 20-odd tracks that all sound the same (which, I can't speak for others, definetly puts me to sleep pretty quickly). There is a lot of hip hop that's overlaid (overlayed? - I don't even think that's a word to be honest) - put on top - which is really quite cool and will appeal to any hip-hop heads out there. I've not dug out any lyrics so yet so I can't say how conscious it is but it sounds decent so far. Well, anyone lookin for a chillout album may like this. Enjoy.

Royksopp - The Understanding

1. Triumphant
2. Only This Moment

3. 49 Percent
4. Sombre Detune
5. Follow My Ruin
6. Beautiful Day Without You
7. What Else is There
8. Circuit Breaker
9. Alpha Male
10. Someone Like Me
11. Dead To The World
12. Tristesse Globale
13. Go Away
14. Clean Sweep
15. Boys
16. Head
17. Looser Now

Many of you have probably heard of Royksopp, in which case good job. If you haven't, then you'll know about them in a minute. They're a Norwegian DJ duo from... Norway. They look quite gay actually now that I look at the Wikipedia picture of them, but oh well, they're sexuality aside the music is great. The stuff they produce is very laid back (the first album, Melody AM, being more lounge-esque than this album), but that doesn't take away from the quality of this album. It has more vocals than the first one but the beats are still pure class. Some personal favourites are Only This Moment, Beautiful Day Without You, What Else is There (there's a great dance remix of this lying about somewhere too, check it out if you get the chance), Someone Like Me, Go Away, and Looser Now. As you can tell, my list of personal favs is quite long which goes to tell you how good this album really is. It's nice to throw on in the car while you're making the long morning haul to school/work on a cold, dark day (it'll definetly relieve your blood pressure while you want to murder the other annoying drivers too). So, in conclusion, if you need a new chill-out album or something to relieve your hypertension problems, then check out Royksopp - The Understanding. Enjoy.
